Flattery

A cacophonous sound,

Dressed in gaudy jewels,

Flamboyantly danced on my tongue

To the tune of incautious diffidence,

And then imperceptibly flung

A poisonous bane into your ear,

But fell back with sudden distress,

Fort the haughty, loud promenade

Proved entirely too illustrious!
